I find some staircases quite interesting and enjoy finding unusual angles and ways to portray them. These were taken in a variety of places, from a disused lighthouse in Northumberland to a free-standing helix in the Louvre in Paris. Also included are staircases in Tate St Ives, in Somerset House in London, a London hotel and a London department store.

A department store in London with a magnificent spiral staircase, this was taken from the bottom looking upwards, using a fisheye lens. The image was processed using HDR to capture the brightness range from the shadows at the bottom to the bright light at the top.
